Our menu is predominantly fresh fish. Our locally farmed meat and fresh local seafood is used to produce most of our traditional English pub food.

We are proud to be featured in all good food guides, continuing a reputation that began with a star rating in Egon Ronay's Pub Guide back in the mid 1970s, long before we came to the New Inn.

Our daily menu is predominantly fresh fish & other fresh local seafood, sourced wherever possible from local waters and local suppliers, locally farmed meat is also used to produce many of our traditional English pub food.

Our wide variety of fresh fish dishes are as diverse as fresh Lobster, to Cornish Sardines.

You can expect to see seasonal variations which include Dressed & Whole Crab to Crack; Cornish Hake; local Mussels; Torbay, Lemon and Dover Sole; Cod dishes, and our now famous Large Haddock cooked in Jurrasic beer batter; Brixham Plaice; Sea Bass; Black Bream; Gurnard; Shell-on Prawns to pick; Salmon; Trout; Mackerel; Dory, and much more, depending on seasonal availability, storms at sea and broken nets.

Our Meat is predominately from Dorset farms, sourced by one of the areas leading butchers, Curtis of Wareham, well known for his quality meat, Sausages, Faggots, game & poultry. Maurice has created many dishes over the years, using the famous Dorset Blue Vinny Cheese an ingredient that has stood the test of time having been on the Menu every day for 25 years is Blue Vinny soup.

There are also light bites, fresh Sandwiches, and Traditional Ploughman's, food allergies, and vegetarian options are catered for, if you are unsure or need help please ask our staff. Children are catered for with their own Small Bites menu and are rewarded with a free ice cream for clean plates.

Maurice has created many dishes over the years, using the famous Dorset Blue Vinny Cheese an ingredient that has stood the test of time having been on the Menu every day for 25 years is Blue Vinny soup. One of our latest creations is Black Pudding Apple and Chorizo Lasagne in a Blue Vinny cheese sauce.
